PDF Crochet pattern for the voluminous, lightweight and all out adorable Big Dumb Heart Cardigan. Pattern includes sizes S-4XL. It features a full balloon sleeve, button closure and cropped length. This pattern uses slip stitch ribbing, and lemon peel stitch (alternating single and double crochet). While it is not a beginner pattern, if you are somewhat experienced in crocheting I would say it’s easy enough for your first sweater, as long as you’re comfortable with the required stitches.

Chest measurements straight across, approximate:
S-50 cm
M-55cm
L-60cm
XL - 65cm
2XL - 70cm
3XL - 75cm
4XL - 80cm

This pattern is made with 8mm/L and 6mm/J hooks and uses approximately 1100-1700/2000/3400 meters each of DK/light worsted yarn and lace weight yarn. It is a written pattern with step by step instructions, no images for each step. It is in English and uses standard US terminology, with specifics given in both metric units.

I was once asked the question “if you were a piece of clothing, what would you be?”, and my immediate answer was “I don’t know, as long as it’s fluffy”. But it got me thinking, and I realized that while I indeed would be something fluffy, I would also be something simultaneously toddler and old woman, super soft with extra glitter. I live my life head over heels, heart first, all feelings and very little logic. This cardigan has a piece of my soul in it, as I truly am a woman with little to no common sense, but a Big Dumb Heart (and I’m not afraid to use it). I hope you find a way to make this so that you, too, can wear your heart on your sleeve.
