Stash-busting time! Need a winter gift in a few hours? Problem solved. For this project grab your remnants bag. you’ll need a few yarns of different weights and colors. When one runs out just tie on another of a similar weight and keep knitting.

Yarn: Various scraps

Needles: #15 Double Pointed Needles

Gauge: 12 stitches = 4” of Rib

Others: Scissors, Tapestry needle, Stitch marker

Notes:
Use several yarns to make the weight of one super bulky. Example combinations could be:
2 DKs, 1 worsted, a lace, and a fingering
3 worsted and a sport weight.
The weights can change during the hat as well. If you run out of a sport weight you can replace it with two lighter yarns. If knitting gets too tight, swap one yarn with something lighter and knit on! The example hats use everything from thread to chunky weight and materials including alpaca, cotton, linen, wool, rayon, silk, cashmere, and acrylic. Have fun! Experiment!
