Bird Lovers sock set
20% off this 2 pattern set with code BIRDS until end of Sunday March, 15th. This sock pattern set, includes TWO sock patterns, both in 3 different stitch count sizes. Herding Ducks socks pattern is inspired by male Mallard ducks and their striking colours and Fancy Pigeon socks, by the humble pigeon, descendants of homing pigeons that were once our beloved pets.
Both patterns uses the magic loop circular needle method (but can be knit with 23cm (9 inch) circulars or DPNs (and were test knitted in all these methods).
Herding Ducks socks
Did you know it is apparently possible to herd ducks? That even includes the easily identifiable Mallard ducks, who inspired these socks. It felt fitting to add them to the ´Herding´ sock pattern series to be included along with cats, hens and cows.
Knit from the top down, starting with a striped ribbed cuff, these socks have a short row heel and a fun to knit stranded colourwork duck motif pattern.

Fancy Pigeon socks
Pigeons have had quite a rough ride with people and for this at least, they deserve a sock pattern dedicated to them! Society used to love pigeons and kept and domesticated them. These birds’ homing abilities and high intelligence made them invaluable for delivering messages, particularly during wartime. The modern city pigeons are not feral; they descended from these domesticated birds that were no longer needed. Our forgotten and abandoned pets! So, these are for any kind, pigeon loving knitters and friends out there also obsessed with these birds.
Knit from the top down with a ribbed cuff, these socks include an Eye of Partridge heel (keeping with the bird theme of course!). There is a pigeon bird motif featuring only on the leg of the sock. Eyes and beak details can be duplicate stitched on if preferred.
