I designed Birdwatcher to protect my head from the elements during my nature observation walks. An all over cable stitch pattern flows beautifully and seamlessly all around the a hat, creating a warm, cushy fabric. The integration of the crown decreases with the cable pattern makes them almost invisible.

Materials and tools
Yarn:
126 yd (115 m) of Malabrigo Rios (100% merino) 210yd/192m to 100g/3.5oz in Solis or Teal feather-
a US 3 (3.25 mm) dpn set
and a US 7 (4.5 mm) dpn set – you can also use your prefered method to knit in the round
