Birlis-beret is worked in the round from the brim up. The pattern has instructions for a beanie and a beret, knit either one.

For size Adult S there are two options, a tighter or looser fit.

Yarn

50-75 g of fingering weight yarn, around 400 m (437.5 yds) per 100 g. The sample (size L) was knitted with madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light(100% Merino, 384 m/ 420 yds per 100 g) in colourway Antler and used 55 g.

Needles & notions

2.75 mm/ US 2 and 3.25 mm/ US 3 (80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop) circular needle, or set of DPNs or size to obtain gauge
markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

32 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 inches with larger needles in stockinette stitch after blocking
