Duna-hat is worked in the round from the brim up either holding two strands of fingering weight yarn or with one strand of dk or worsted yarn. The brim is shaped with short rows but instructions are given also for straight brim.

Finished measurements

Brim finished circumference non stretched 35.5, 38, 40.5 cm/ 14, 15, 16 inches.
Body finished circumference 43, 45.5, 50.5 cm/ 17, 18, 20 inches.
Height approximately 22 cm/ 8.5 inches.

Yarn

100 g of worsted weight yarn, app. 210 m (230 yds) per 100 g or 100 g of fingering weight yarn, app. 384 m (420 yds) per 100 g, held double. The sample (size M) was knitted with fingering wt yarn held double using madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in colourway Scout and madelinetosh Tosh Mo Light in colourway Copper Pink (100% Merino, 384 m/ 420 yds per 100 g) and each used 70 g.
15 g of CC is enough for the contrast stripe and pompom.

3.75 mm/ US 5 and 4.50 mm/ US 7 (80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop) circular needle, or set of DPNs or size to obtain gauge
markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends pompom maker, optional
