Bivio Longsleeve
About the pattern
The Bivio long sleeve is knitted top-down in a rib pattern (2 knit, 1 purl) using 3 mm needles. First, the back piece is worked with increases for the armholes, and the stitches are then set aside.
For the left front piece, stitches are picked up, and the neckline is shaped with increases. The piece is worked back and forth until the armhole increases are made, after which the stitches are set aside. The right front piece is worked in the same way, but with buttonholes along the front edge.
The front pieces and the back piece are then joined, and the work continues back and forth in rib, with decreases to shape the waist. The piece then continues in the regular rib pattern until it reaches the desired length. The body is finished with a stretchy bind-off.
Next, stitches are picked up for the neckline, which is also worked in rib with buttonholes and finished with a stretchy bind-off. Finally, stitches for the two sleeves are picked up. The sleeves are worked with decreases to ensure a fitted look and are finished with a slit and buttonholes. Lastly, all ends are woven in and buttons are sewn on.
