Bivouac balaclava
Have you missed that final wool layer when you’re out in the deepest winter chill? Then Bivouac balaclava is for you! It’s a cowl with hood that protects you all the way from neck to mouth. It’s also a piece that makes you look both stylish and mysterious. I want it to feel as a warm hug, almost like crawling into a warm and dry space while the snow is storming outside. Like a bivouac of wool.
The pattern comes in three sizes small, medium and large.
CONSTRUCTION & TECHNIQUES
The piece has two different parts, the cowl and the hood. The cowl is knitted in colorwork with two colors and smaller needles. Then one change to bigger needles and work stockinette and shape the hood. The shaping of the head is worked exactly as a heel with heelflap but in larger scale so if you have knitted socks before you will recognize the construction. The piece is finished with an I-cord edge.
