Bjerkelund is a fitted beanie knit from the bottom up. You start by knitting the cable braid that wraps around the head, and stitch it together. You then pick up stitched and knit the rest in the round.

Sizes: S (M) L

Fits a head circumference: 51-54 (55-57) 58-61 cm/20-21 (21.5-22.5) 23-24 inches

Recommended yarn: Lang Yarn Cashmere light, 85 m on 25 g

Recommended needle: 5,5 mm (US 9)

Yarn quantity: 50 g for all sizes

Gauge: circa 20 sts and 30 rows on 10x10 cm/4x4 inches

You will also need: Cable needle, stitch markers and a tapestry needle.

Lang Yarns Cashmere Light is pretty unique. Incredibly soft, airy, stretchy and gives a compact stitch look on surprisingly large needles. Here are a couple of suggestions for other yarns that could work, but feel free to experiment.
