Bjørnevåk
This shawl was made to celebrate spring. It’s named for Bjørnevåk, a day on the traditional Norwegian calendar (22 May), when bears were said to leave their dens.
The shawl begins with an Estonian leaf-and-nupp motif and then moves into a diamond pattern and is finished with a Shetland-inspired edging. The edging is worked on both RS and WS with no rest rows but is easy to memorise.
