Maridal Scarf
The Maridal scarf features lacy cables, slipped stitches, and leaves. The motif is easy to memorize but not boring, and the scarf works up quickly. I suggest using a yarn with good stitch definition to show off the cables and slipped stitches in particular.
The original scarf was knitted Feelgood Slim by A Knit Story, 200m/50g. This yarn has been discontinued. It was a lofty 2-ply and its yardage in relation to its weight was deceptive -- 400m/100g is usually a fingering weight yarn, but this one knitted up as a sport weight.
The original Maridal pattern features this motif in a triangular shawl that’s worked on the bias.
Matching fingerless mitts are also available: Maridal Fingerless Mitts.
