Black Cat Basics patterns are designed for beginner
knitters who want to make something they will actually want to wear.

The Basics Scarf is an excellent first knitting project, as it’s knit flat with no increasing or decreasing, and only uses the knit stitch. You can use multiple colours like the original, or keep it simple by using all one colour.

Needles:
10 mm/US size 15 straight or circular needle(s) (scarf is worked flat)

Notions: Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)

Yarn:
Woolly Yarn Co. Super Woolly (100% NZ wool, 100 metres/109 yards per 200g)
colour(s) pictured: “Nessie”, “Quackers”, “I’m The Moss”
Quantities Needed: 1 skein of each colour (3 skeins total)
If substituting yarn, approx. amounts required: 300 metres / 327 yards total

Or similar yarn that can achieve gauge

Finished Measurements: 8 inches / 20 cm wide, 88 inches / 224 cm long
