Black Hawthorn continues my love of leaves, but in a series named after trees I feel like it’s fitting. This shawl is lovely and leafy and large. The stitch pattern has a lovely repetitive feel to it, a comfortable knit.

Yarn:

1 skein of Custom Woolen Mills Prairie Sea Fusion in colourway 03 or 300 yards (274 metres) of bulky weight yarn.

Needles:

10mm (US 15) circular needles in at least a 32” (81cm) cord. Or whatever size needles it takes you to get gauge.

Notions:

Things to block your giant shawl.
4 stitch markers.

Gauge:

6.5 stitches and 10 rows = 4” (10cm) square knit flat
in leaves pattern and blocked.
