It took five attempts to get this how I wanted it to be - as close to Black Otter Rex, oh rabbit of beauty and velvet - as I could!

It’s a little challenge for you, especially the face - but do-able, of course - I made five!!

He’s knitted in, almost, one piece, joining as you go - the only separate elements are the hind leg feet.

You may want to know if he’s different from my other rabbits, in particular the Wild Rabbit? - Well, he is more detailed with new style forelegs and chin.

I’ve knitted him using fine Alpaca, wool and Alpaca mix yarns PLUS a touch of kid-silk from Drops yarn, Knitting for Olive and Rico Essentials - and trebled and quadrupled up using three/four colours at once to create ‘velvety’ subtle tones - a lot of yarn shades but some you can substitute from your stash for sure - you may even find a beautiful hand-dyed black, ochre and blue tones yarn which would be just perfect as a substitute! - You’’ll need 200 metres if you’re just using a single yarn choice.

You’ll also need a pair of 16mm toy eyes, I used clear (called ‘grey’) ones which I sourced from Ebay and toy filling - a heavy un-carded one works best I find (again, sourced from Ebay)!

AND - there are also many images illustrating how to make up your bunny and how to make it look as real as can be (given it’s made from yarn and not fur!)
- in fact, if you’re planning on printing it out you may wish to print black and white and omit images?
