Blanket for Lilla
I made this blanket for Lilla, the daughter of our lovely friends. As usual, I found a nice pattern, created gauge and a small section from the pattern, but I didn’t like that way. I change something here and there and ended up basically with a new pattern. The feedback is that this size is very practical in baby carriage, in car and at home too.
Basically any yarn weight could be fine for this project. I would choose anti-pilling for small children and machine washable from practical point of view.
I used Öten Bayan Madam Cotton yarn (color code 4) which contains 51% acrylic and 49% cotton. The yarn weight of 280m / 100g makes it a durable, not to warm, practical and child friendly yarn with good price tag.
Ca. 35 dkg, therefore 4 skeins is needed for a blanket of size ca. 70 cm x 70 cm with 3.5 mm needle. The gauge is 26 stitches x 40 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in stockinette stitch blocked. If you are working with other yarn weight you can determine by knitting gauge how much repeat of the pattern do you need to have the same size.
The pattern itself can be found on the website of the blog.
