This is a raglan pullover from the top down. Across the yoke, stranded colorwork paints a landscape of mountain ridges, while the lower body features river-like crocheted curves.
The design is dotted with flowers, each with a crocheted center. You can omit these flowers or get creative with this part. The flowers appeared by accident and were never part of the original plan. And so, the sweater’s first name, “River and Ridges” gave way to “Bloom by Accident”. To me, the new name carries a wild sense of poetry and an untamed vitality. I like it much more.

Yarn

Choose the fiber type according to your desired effect and the season for wear, the sample uses cotton yarn. DK or sport weight yarn is recommended. You may also hold finer yarns together as long as you can achieve the gauge.
Suggested yarns: Garnstudio DROPS Loves You 7 186 yds (170 m) / 50 g, Knit Picks Shine Sport 110 yds (101 m) / 50 g, Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK 137 yds (125 m) / 50 g, Lamana Como 131yds(120m)/25g or any other yarn that meets the required gauge.
Prepare two colors: a main color (MC) for the body, and a contrasting color (CC) for the mountain and river motifs as well as for the flowers.
Main color(MC): 752 (859, 953, 1032, 1114) (1271, 1378) yds / 688 (785, 872, 944, 1018) (1163, 1259) m.
Contrasting color (CC): 238 (247, 262, 281, 295) (371, 382) yds / 218 (226, 240, 257, 270) (339, 349) m, inclusive of flowers.
If holding multiple strands of yarn together, multiply the required length by the number of strands.
It’s recommended to always have a little extra yarn on hand.

Needles

3.75 mm / US 5 for the main body.
3.25 mm / US 3 for the ribbing.
Adjust needle size as needed to meet the required gauge.

Gauge

Gauge is measured after washing and blocking.
23 sts × 34 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4″ in stockinette stitch on 3.75 mm / US 5 needles.
