This is a top-down raglan pullover featuring a deep V-neck and generous positive ease for a relaxed summer fit. It is named “Sierra” for its mountain motif along its hem and neckline. If you knit the sweater long, I suggest pairing it with a decorative belt or tying a knot at the hem.

Yarn

Choose the yarn according to the desired effect and the intended season of wear. The sample garment was knitted with mercerised cotton.
Option 1
Work the main body with the same yarn held double and the mountain motif with a single strand of this yarn.
Suggested yarn and yardage: 1836 (2268, 2678) yds / 1679 (2074, 2449) m of Hobbii Rainbow Lace or BC Garn Luxor Mercerised.
Option 2
Work the main body with a single strand of thicker yarn, and the mountain motif with another finer yarn (about half the thickness of the main yarn).
Suggested yarn and yardage:
For Main Body: 836 (1030, 1223) yds / 765 (942, 1119) m of Zeeman Ella Mercerised (single strand).
For Mountain Motif: 276 (340, 402) yds / 253 (311, 367) m of Hobbii Rainbow Lace (single strand).

Always have an additional 50–100 g of yarn on hand to avoid running out.

Needles

4.00 mm / US 6 for main body.
2.75 mm / US 2 for patterned sections.
Adjust needle sizes to achieve gauge. Use double point needles or circular needles according to your needs and preference.

Gauge

All measurements are taken after washing and blocking.
Main body (stockinette stitch, two strands of fine yarn held together or a single strand of thicker yarn): 19 stitches and 37 rows = 10 cm × 10 cm (4″ × 4″) on 4.00 mm /US 6 needles.
At the neckband, one repeat of the pattern (one strand of finer yarn): 34 stitches and 25 rows ≈ 14 cm × 4 cm (5½″ × 1½″) on 2.75 mm / US 2 needles. At the hem, the pattern may stretch horizontally while its vertical height remains the same.
Trying a larger needle with a finer yarn might get you closer to the desired gauge.

Sizes

1 (2, 3).
The finished bust circumference for these sizes is 107 (122, 135) cm / 42¼ (48, 53¼)″. 17-32 cm / 6¾-12½″ of positive ease is recommended. Refer to the finished measurements in the pattern to help confirm your size choice.
