The Blossom Sweater is an oversized, dropped
shoulder sweater with a slightly curved sleeve. The sweater is worked from the top down. First, the back yoke is knit flat while short rows are worked to shape the shoulders. Then, each shoulder is picked up separately and worked flat with short rows before joining to form the front yoke. The front and back yokes are joined at the underarms to form the body, which is worked in the round. The sleeves are picked up and knit in the round with additional short row shaping at the armhole and the elbow. At the end, the collar is worked from stitches that are picked up and knit along the neck opening.

Sizing

Bust size: 75 (85, 95, 105) (115, 125, 135) cm / 30 (34, 38, 42) (46, 50, 54)”

Yarn

Choose any aran weight yarn or hold together two yarns that add up to an aran weight (e.g. worsted + fingering). If the sweater is knit with one yarn and not two contrasting yarns held together, you won’t have the color contrast on your rolled edges.

My sample was knit with Heavy Merino by Knitting for Olive (50g = 125m) in color Undyed held together with Olivia BFL by Olivia & Oliver Fibers (100g = 400m) in color Elder Flower. Olivia BFL can be substituted with Merino by Knitting for Olive. Other yarn options for aran weight yarns:

Drops - Alaska
Drops - Nepal
Filcolana - Peruvian
ístex - Léttlopi
Kelbourne Woolens - Germantown
Kelbourne Woolens - Lucky Tweed
Rauma - Fivel
Sandnes Garn - Atlas

Yardage

1000 (1125, 1250, 1375) (1520, 1625, 1805) meters / 1095 (1230, 1365, 1505) (1660, 1775, 1975) yards.
If you are choosing to knit this with two yarns
held together you will need to double the
yardage.
