Learning how to knit an afghan can often seem an impossible task, but it is not as bad as it seems. This Blue Lagoon Afghan pattern breaks all knitting process into squares, which also makes this a great pattern for knitting on the go.
You don’t have to be a professional knitter to take on this snuggle. With the use of basic stitches, this knitting pattern is a perfect for anyone.
This afghan is sure to be a great addition to your home. You can drape it over your couch or bed to complement off the colours in the room. Mix and match your loved colours, choose a different yarn to create a beautiful colour tones that goes with your decor!

SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE.

STITCHES used: knit, k2tog, ssk, yo, p3tog. Also, you have to know basic crochet stitch for joining all squares in one piece.
The pattern comes with written instructions, chart and diagram.
TECHNIQUE: Square motifs are worked in the round.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• CC1: 1 x 50g ball (75m/82yds), using Drops Nepal Aran 2923 (goldenrod shade) yarn.
• CC3: 5 x 50g balls (375m/410yds), using Drops Nepal Aran 1477 (pistachio shade) yarn.
• CC2: 7 x 50g balls (525m/574yds), using Drops Nepal Aran 0100 (off white shade) yarn.
• CC4: 10 x 50g balls (750m/820yds), using Drops Nepal Aran 8911 (sea blue shade) yarn. (I used this colour leftovers to crochet all pieces together and to make pompoms).

NB If you substitute another yarn, please check gauge (tension) and yardage and adjust accordingly.

• 5 DPN (straight needles) - 5.00 mm (US 8) x 25 cm.
• Circular needle 5.00 mm (US 8) x 60 cm.
• 4 Markers.
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 1 Crochet Hook - 3.50 mm (US E/4) for joining motifs.

GAUGE (tension): 12 sts and 12 rows = 10 cm (4”) measured over eyelet st, blanket being blocked, using 5.00 mm (US 8) needle. NB Gauge is not crucial for this pattern.

MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING:
Afghan: 156 cm width x 117 cm length (61 ½ x 46 ins). NB Your size depends on your gauge.
Square: 39 x 39 cm (15 ½ x 15 ½ ins) when blocked.
