The design is reversible because it is made with double knitting which also makes it lovely warm.

The tassel is knitted like a ball that is knitted to the hat as the work progresses. It is made in two colours and placed so that half of it turns outwards and fully visible contributes to the design, whereas the other half turns inwards and contributes to the shape of the design in a more subdued way making you look a little “high-hatted”.

Take your time filling the tassel with soft toy stuffing so it gets a nice round shape.
