Boagán – Belt

Boagán is the Sámi word for “belt.” The design features motifs from the central section of a belt from Nesseby in Varanger, while the upper and lower borders are inspired by a belt edging from Kautokeino.

Boagán is a short and roomy sweater worked from the bottom up. The body is worked in the round in one piece and steeked for the armholes before the sleeves are sewn in. The length can easily be adjusted.
