Gauge
12 sts x 28 rounds of Brioche knit = 10 cm x 10 cm
It is extra important to check the gauge when knitting Brioche, as even a half stitch difference in the gauge can make a big difference to the garment. Check the gauge by knitting a test swatch with 16 sts on a 5 mm needle using the Brioche method, measure 10 cm on the swatch and count how many stitches you have within the 10 cm.

Description
Bolcher is a brioche knit raglan sweater worked from the top down. It is worked in the round on circular needles. The waves along the sweater are formed with something as simple as increases and decreases while maintaining the brioche stitch, which means that anyone who masters brioche knitting will also master this sweater!
Usually when I design knitwear I have a clear picture in my head of what I want the garment to look like before I start knitting. With the Bolcher Sweater, I knew I wanted to create something playful using decreases and increases with brioche, but after knitting at least 10 swatches, the vision was still unclear. So I decided to just get on with the knitting and “trust the process”! As a result, this is perhaps one of the most fun design processes I’ve had - resulting in a sweater that is playful, simple and fun to knit with a pattern that is truly addictive.
