FINISHED SIZE 62” wide and 25” long.

YARN Knit 1 No. Series Yarn, 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon; 400yds/100g. Samples shown in No. 14 (MC) and No. 29 (CC), and in No. 22 (MC) and No. 30 (CC) - 1 skein each.

NEEDLES Size 4 (3.5 mm): 40” circular needle.

NOTIONS 2 stitch markers (m).

GAUGE 22 sts and 44 rows = 4” (10 cm) in garter stitch, though gauge isn’t very important for this shawl. See FINISHING NOTE for more.

NOTES Carry both colors up along the side of the work unless directed otherwise, and unfortunately you’ll be directed to cut often. Try to weave in your cut ends as you knit!

Working a combination of both Latvian Braid rows will twist and then untwist your yarn strands, so as you’re working your first Latvian Braid row just try to keep your yarn twists out of the way as they will untwist during your second pass.

FINISHING NOTE: This shawl uses up as much of the yarn as possible because I love a large shawl! De- pending on your gauge you may be using up more or less yarn than I did while knitting your shawl. You may want to use a kitchen scale to measure your remaining yarn to make sure you have 8 grams of each color to complete your Icord bind off safely. Each row at this point in the shawl will use 2 grams, each complete 2 row stripe 4 grams. If you’re running low on yarn skip stripes. If you’ve got a lot of yarn left keep striping!
