My favorite fairy tale of all time is Beauty and the Beast. I love that a beautiful girl could see beneath the surface and fall in love with such an ugly beast and change him into a better “man.”

In the Disney movie version Belle is a bookworm. She walks around, book in hand, ignoring the outside world. I can identify with being in a world of books.

I designed these fingerless mitts for all the beautiful bookworms out in the world today. Who says you can’t have a touch of whimsy and keep your hands warm at the same time?

The mitts are knitted flat and seamed together at the end. The “rose” part takes a minimal amount of a contrast color yarn…

Note about the “leaf buttons:”
Since I have had a few questions about the buttons. I ordered the buttons from Joann.com. Here is the link:
Tiny Raking Leaves
The buttons are inexpensive. I used the green ones in the set, on the mitts.
