Bookish Slipover V Neck
Please see bottom for sliding payment scale options.
The Bookish Slipover V Neck is a stockinette vest/sleeveless top with 2x2 ribbed details for all hems and finishings, a split hem, optional modifications for a split side with worked in i-cord edges for nursing, and a higher v neck line. It is designed to be able to be worn with or without a shirt underneath, with sleeve finishings and crossback width that covers undergarment straps.
The pattern is graded for bust measurements of 28-66”, or 71.25-167.75 cm. The recommended positive ease is 5-8”.
If you are looking for a more oversized look, I recommend choosing one size up. Due to the crossback measurement being tailored to fit the back width of each size, going 2 sizes up or more may result in the garment looking like a size too large is being worn instead of having an oversized look.
Model has a 35.5” bust and is wearing a size 2 in green and 3 in brown.
There are 10 sizes with finished bust circumferences as follows:
36, 40, 44, 47.5, (51, 55, 59, 63,) 67, 71 Inches OR 91.5, 101.5, 111.75, 120.5, (129.5, 139.75, 149.75, 160,) 170.25, 180.25 CM.
The yarn consumption is as follows:
Yardage
Cropped
1060, 1175, 1295, 1450, (1630, 1815, 1995, 2185,) 2390, 2560
Regular
1250, 1390, 1530, 1700, (1900, 2110, 2315, 2525,) 2750, 3100
Grams
Cropped
243, 269, 297, 332, (373, 415, 457, 500,) 547, 586
Regular
286, 318, 350, 390, (435, 483, 530, 578,) 630, 710
If working with 1 strand of DK or worsted, divide the above yardages by 2.
Example: Size 1 with 1 yarn would use 1060/2=530.
Due to using 2 fingering strands held together, a good alternative yarn weight for holding 1 strand would be a DK/ heavy DK. The heavy DK or light worsted is a suitable substitute because of the plump feeling of 2 strands held together when working with the fingering.

“The higher neckline keeps everything covered when little hands start pulling.”
“This is my dream v-neck vest/slipover! I LOVE the higher v-neck, and the split hem detail is SO darling. I would consider myself a beginner (I’ve only really knit a good handful of things, and have only been knitting for a few months), and this pattern was so, so easy for me to follow along”
“The slipover is super versatile and fits well! I love that I can dress it up or down, and the pattern is easy to follow! I loved working on these, and it seemed to just fly off my needles.”
