Bookshop is a crescent shawl inspired by Flower Garden Yarn’s “Bookshop” colorway; a lovely, deeply speckled colorway intended to remind us of old books. The greens, golds, and reds come together beautifully on the cream base, all of it accentuated by simple garter and slipped stitches. The center spine is meant to resemble an old, worn book spine. This pattern is so easy, you’ll be able to read a book or watch TV while working on it. Choose between the one- skein or two-skein versions, or customize the size of your Bookshop Shawl to whatever size you’d like!

This crescent-shaped shawl is worked from the top down, starting with an elongated i-cord tab cast on, that works seamlessly into i-cord edging worked throughout the pattern to your i-cord bind-off.

For results that look the most similar to the sample, use the suggested yarn or a merino-based fingering weight yarn and swatch to ensure look and drape is as desired and gauge is close.

This pattern is pretty simple, so I highly recommend using speckled or variegated yarn to keep things fun and interesting!

The pattern is flexible, and weighing your skein will maximize your yarn usage.
