This is a mini wine bottle sweater of my original adult Box Top Sweater pattern. This is a very easy sweater to knit, and a great hostess gift. I did the sample out of a holiday yarn, but that is not necessary. Isn’t it so cute?! My Sister-in-Law Cindy inspired me to write this pattern, and this sample is a gift for her this Christmas.

Enjoy!

One Size

A 9-inch sweater circumference will fit most wine bottles. If you want to fit a larger wine bottle, simply add an even number of stitches.

Sample sweater shown in as an 8.25-inch diameter stretched around the bottle. I started this sample from a leftover length of a circular sock machine sock tube.

Yarn
20 g (approximately 90 yards 82 meters of any fingering weight yarn, or scraps as desired.

Needles and Notions
US 4 (3.5 mm) or appropriate needle to get gauge in the round; double points, Magic loop, or two circular needles for the body; double point needles for sleeves. Other notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle.

Gauge
Aim for 24 stitches in 4 inches. Guage is not super important on the wine bottle sweater as the neck will stop the sweater from slipping off the bottle, and the sweater will stretch.
