Bracewell is an asymmetrical shawl that is rhythmic to knit. It uses three colours , 100 grams (200 metres) of each. This is a fun, simple knit that results in an elegant shawl that is easy to dress up or down.
Its knitted sideways from a small point gradually increasing to form an asymmetrical whole.
The example shown is made in Outlaw yarn Vanitas, however most Dk yarns will work well. I’ve also made it with a 10 ply yarn, which worked well, however i did need more yarn to complete it. Because of the nature of the construction it is easy to make the shawl smaller or bigger by casting off sooner, or continuing knitting. If knitted as per the instructions the finished shawl will measure 38 cm at its deepest point and has a wingspan of 130 cm.
