It’s a scarf, it’s a cowl, it’s Bracken by Irina Anikeeva. Starting from a central provisional cast on, this convertible scarf is constructed in the round with perfect symmetry. Find three buttons to complement the geometric motif on each end.

One size: 14” (35 cm) circumference, 70” (175 cm) length.

Yarn
Hudson + West Co. Weld: MC jam, 4 skeins; CC aspen (natural white), 1 skein.

Needles
Size A (stockinette portions of scarf body): US 4 (3.5 mm)
Size B (ribbing): US 3 (3.25 mm)
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions
Stitch markers; locking stitch marker; waste yarn; tapestry needle; 3 buttons ¾” (18 mm) in diameter; sewing needle and thread for sewing on buttons; crochet hook (optional, for provisional cast on).

Gauge
