This is a worsted version of my previously published Bräcken convertible mitt design. This version also includes the addition of an afterthought thumb. A fingerless glove version is also available. This glove is unique in that it is free of a thumb gusset. All shaping is done by utilizing the placement of the cables, which gives the gloves a snug fit.

Finished Measurements:

  • Mitten: 10” long X 3.5” wide, laying flat

Sizing:

  • Fits an average Medium hand size. (Note: You can accommodate a smaller sized hand by casting on a smaller number of stitches for the ribbed cuff and then increase to the number of stitches for the hand. The thumb stitches will also need to be decreased. I would be happy to help you with this. Just contact me for pattern support.

Skills required:

  • Tubular Cast On (video link provided) A longtail cast on can be substituted.

  • Reading from a chart. (Pattern also includes written instructions.)

  • Wet Blocking over mitten blockers or cardboard
