I have used Rowan Felted Tweed in this stunning, quirky long pixie/stocking hat. The wool/alpaca mix creates great texture and softness and the tweedy colours blend beautifully together. The pattern is knitted on 3.5 circular or double pointed needles, to create a firmer stitch in the felted tweed. There are 4 sizes from children’s to adult, designed with six simple peerie patterns (small Fair Isle patterns) of three or four rows and two to four stitch repeats. It is a great pattern for those who are beginners to Fair Isle. The coloured graph clearly lays out the patterns. The hat can be knitted by repeating the graph or changing the colours and sequence, to create your own design.

The photographs illustrate changes in the colour combinations, whilst maintaining an even balance to add interest to the design.

A knitting kit is available from my Folksy shop.
