This cowl is the piece representing the final chapter in the story of Tristan and Isolde. The Rose of Ireland and the Briar of Cornwall, Together at the Last. Forever. sigh It is the very embodiment of tragic love! The fabric itself is deeply, darkly beautiful and poignant. But it doesn’t have to be!

Almost effortless to make, this design lends itself to endless different yarns and colors and even different styles with the addition of buttons to make it your own. The mitered edge is made with a complementary yarn and post stitches to mimic ribbing, which adds a unique finished edge along the bottom edge while the top edge blends easily into the body of the cowl as it drapes across your shoulders.

BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY:
-Single Crochet
-Half Double Crochet
-Front and Back Post Stitches

GAUGE:
Linen stitch after blocking, 28 stitches (14 sc and 14 ch 1 sps) and 27 rows in 4 inches. Finished measurements are approximately 10” high by 24” long when unbuttoned. To modify the length, simply add or subtract chains in multiples of two.
