This cozy brioche-knit bandana works up flat, and progresses like a comforting mini-shawl. This project might be easier than it sounds, since it’s knit flat and the open brioche is just one color.

Use a contrast color to highlight the i-cord bindoff, or knit this all in one skein of soft lightweight yarn. The sample was made with Hedgehog Fibres Oh So Fine Merino in Cinder and UFO colorways.

Materials:

  • 50-58g/215-250m/235-274yds of Hedgehog Fibres Oh So Fine in MC (Cinder); 8g/35m/39yds Oh So Fine in CC (UFO)
  • 1 24” circular needles in US4/3.5mm, or size needed for gauge
  • spare DPN or circular needle for grafting, same size or 1-2 sizes smaller
  • scrap yarn for provisional cast-on
  • crochet hook for provisional cast-on
  • tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:
Gauge is 17 sts and 22 rows over 4”/10cm of brioche stitch, worked flat and blocked.
