Broadleaf Slouch is a charming brioche & stockinette hat to ward off the chill in the blustery winter months ahead! Available in two sizes and including instructions to knit either a slouch or beanie style, this versatile hat is knit in the round using mohair lace and fingering weight (or sport weight) held together for a beautiful drape and extra warmth.
Choose two complementary colors from your stash to hold together for the stockinette body of the hat and the brioche background on the brim, use a single strand of fingering/sport weight for the foreground of the brioche in a contrasting color to make the pretty motif pop!

Broadleaf Slouch requires little yardage making it an ideal stashbuster! We love it with mohair but it’s equally gorgeous in Suri or Brushed Alpaca Silk by DROPS ($5/ball) you can even omit the fluff and use DK instead!
This pattern includes a step-by-step tutorial for the brioche motif - brioche neophytes have no fear, you can totally knit up this hat! It’s a fun, fast and engaging knit to encourage you to give brioche a try; we know you’ll fall in love with this rad technique!
Broadleaf Slouch is a great opportunity to work with stash yarn and mix and match weights and colours! Provided you swatch and get gauge, you can work with either fingering or sport weight yarn, or both!
