Book One is available now in both softcover and e-book format and features the first six garment patterns from Wool & Pine, including Broadleaf! The softcover book is a wonderful way to collect all of our garment patterns from 2020 at a great price.
Broadleaf is knit using one strand of mohair held with one strand of sock yarn to create a luxurious, highly textural brioche motif on the front and back. Additionally, an optional stockinette back is included in the pattern. Knit flat in two pieces, then seamed using a mattress stitch along the sides and shoulder, stitches are then picked up for the sleeves and knit in the round. Featuring a flattering drape, dropped sleeves and boatneck, Broadleaf is cozy and easy to wear.
The depth of texture and stunning color effects made possible through brioche makes Broadleaf an addictive and exciting knit. Our samples feature brilliantly colorful mohair and sock yarn indie-dyed by Spun Right Round, both fibers are dyed the same color but when held together create an eye-catching stained glass effect. Choose an accent color for the foreground of the brioche in a single strand of sock yarn to accentuate the organic motif of Broadleaf.
Note: Several of our testers omitted the mohair with beautiful results! Use a DK for the background color or just fingering weight yarn. If you are wanting some fuzz without the mohair, substitute with Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk ($5/ball) for beautiful results! Check out their project pages to see all their gorgeous Broadleafs in various yarns, sizes and colors!

Yarn Description: Our samples feature SpunRightRound Classic Sock and Mohair Silk. The blend of these two fibers creates a dynamic fabric that has both exquisite softness and a cozy factor that’s off the charts! The combination of mohair + sock creates an exciting opportunity to fade several colors together as the mohair has a magical way of blending and softening the colors held alongside it, especially in reverse stockinette.
Classic Sock is a 4-ply sock yarn of 100% Superwash Merino with a strong round twist and silky texture with the slightest sheen. It blooms upon blocking making deliciously plump stitches.
Mohair Silk is a laceweight 72% kid mohair, 28% silk blend with a soft halo surrounding a strand of gently twisted silk core. As soft as a bunny’s tummy this blend lends a gorgeous halo to your finished piece.
