Knit sideways on the bias in garter stitch with lace insets, this shawl has an easily memorized 4-row pattern repeat. The bind-off is done in 6 steps, which gives a bit more wingspan without adding depth.

Skills required:
• Increasing
• Decreasing
• Yarn overs

Yarn:
For best results, choose a yarn with some drape. Merino/silk blends are especially nice, as are some superwash wools. The different row gauges of the lace and garter mean that you need to open the garter up during blocking. Springy yarn with lots of memory may not maintain the blocking as well.
