It’s time for another stress-free summer knit! This simple shawl is knit from the bottom up with any yarn you like and to any size you want. Mostly squishy garter stitch with eyelets and picots along the edges so you don’t die from boredom.

Size is adjustable and is dependent on your gauge and yardage.

Skills required:
• Knitted-on cast-on
• Increasing
• Decreasing
• Yarn overs

Gauge and measurements:
You should work at a gauge that gives you a nice fabric with your yarn. Sample shown was knit in 405 yards of fingering weight yarn on US 4 needles at a gauge of 20 stitches in 4 inches of garter stitch. It has a wingspan of 62” and a depth of 18” after being lightly blocked.

Additional materials:
• Circular needles in a size that works with your yarn. You may need to have a long (32 or 40”) cable toward the end, depending on your yarn and yardage
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Sample knit in madelinetosh 80/10/10 Fingering in Dirty Panther.
