Budding Socks

These socks are inspired by my Budding Vine brioche socks and are for those that love the colorwork motif, but do not want to fiddle with the brioche portion.

8 sizes available - 56 (60, 64, 68, 72, 76, 80, 84) stitches.

Please note: sizes 60,72,84 are the only sizes that will have a continuous 12 stitch repeat (featured picture). The other sizes will have a variation of this stitch pattern.

Gauge: My patterns generally recommend a 9 stitch per inch, 10 row per inch gauge for colorwork, but it ultimately does not matter and as long as you list your gauge on the feedback form and know what stitch count works best for your foot size.

  • I have an 11 spi gauge so I knit a larger size than I would if my gauge was 9spi

Construction:

  • Knit top down, with a heel flap and gusset.
  • The sock is 2-color stranded colorwork.
  • The pattern includes Charts for each size. You will find standard directions at the beginning of the pattern and the corresponding chart for your size after the written instructions.

In the pictures you will see 3 similar, but slightly different socks. This is because the chart is a 12 stitch repeat which only works for stitch counts divisible by 12. All socks will be slightly different, but the following sizes will be similar:

Green cuff, heel and toe: sizes 60, 72, 84 stitches
Black cuff, heel and toe: sizes 56, 80 stitches
Cream cuff, heel and toe: sizes 64, 68, 76 stitches
