The Buffalo Plaid Christmas Garland is the perfect DIY farmhouse holiday decor for your mantle!

Each tree is made of two flat panels that are joined with single crochet and and lightly stuffed. This pattern is rated as intermediate because of the frequent color changes, but the only stitch you will need to know is single crochet. I tried to be very detailed with when and how to change colors, but if you get stuck, the pattern also includes a graph of the color pattern and step-by-step pictures.

Although these Buffalo Check Trees look great strung as a garland, they are equally cute hung individually as Christmas ornaments. You could even use them as table decor! So many possibilities!

This pattern is a rework of the trees from my Christmas Tree and Star Garland, so if you’re looking for something that’s a little more basic, you can find that pattern in my shop as well!

SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate: this pattern involves frequent color changes and increasing.

DIMENSIONS
The finished tree is approximately 5.5” - 6” tall. As pictured, the finished garland is approximately 6 feet long.

MATERIALS
You will need a size I (5.5mm) crochet hook for this project. For each tree, you will need about 15-20 yards of worsted weight yarn (4) in three colors. For the whole garland, I used less than one skein of each color. You will also need a small amount of Polyfill or other stuffing material. If you would like to string your trees on a wooden bead garland as shown, you will also need wooden beads and some twine (a link to the kit I purchased is included in the pattern).
