This is a child’s hood pattern designed for a bulky gauge (9mm) knitting machine with ribber, and worsted weight yarn. It will fit from baby through to an older child, (fits a 1, 5, and 7-year old here!) and can be worn with the face uncovered, folded up from the bottom to cover the mouth and nose, or pulled down over the head totally like a cowl. It is designed to take the place of a separate hat and scarf.

The pattern is forgiving, in that it doesn’t matter if it fits a little more tightly or loosely.

For the hand knitters, it could be easily hand knit flat or in the round, also.

Enjoy!
