If you have a shelf elf who visits around the holidays, and they look cold, why not machine knit them a little sweater?

This pattern is intended for flatbed, standard gauge (4.5mm or 5mm) knitting machines with a ribber, and #1 weight (UK 4ply) sock yarn, or similar. It is made flat in 4 pieces, and seamed together. The sweater is a very simple style with a dropped shoulder, and a roll neck. The cuffs and welt of the sweater are ribbed, however if you don’t have a ribber, you could simply let the sweater roll there too if you wanted, or use mock rib or a hung hem.

My version was knit on the White/Superba 1602 double bed 5mm machine, in leftovers of West Yorkshire Spinners sock yarn.
Gauge: 8 stitches per inch, 10.5 rows per inch
Stitch Size: On the Superba I used T5 for the rib and T7 for the stocking stitch sections, but this will vary depending on the machine and yarn used.
