Beyond the 1 skein of Bernat Satin Solids yarn that is needed for the body you are free to choose the kind of yarn needed for the overcoat. I suggest anything fuzzy and soft. I used about 150 yards, but the amount varies depending on the thickness of the yarn.

Metal needles are highly recommended for this pattern.

I design all my BB patterns with Bernat Solids yarn, and depending on the website show this yarn to be worsted or aran weight. People have used DK weight in the past. I also heavily recommend metal knitting needles as wooden ones will only break.
