The Burlingame Hat is a beanie worked from the bottom up. It features a checkerboard slip stitch pattern.
I used shetland yarn from Windholme Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island. ( I found this source through the Rhode Island Sheep cooperative website. Does your state have a sheep cooperative? It’s a great resource to find unique yarn and sometimes meet sheep!) This yarn knit up at a gauge of 5 sts/ 24 rows on a size 4 US needle.
I created this pattern as part of my Knit Fresh Rhode Island e-book a collection of patterns featuring yarns made in Rhode Island. It is one of 3 patterns available only with the purchase of the ebook.
