These fingerless mitts are a quick knit, using an easy cable. The cable begins in the cuff of the mitt and continues on up, slanting over towards the pointing finger. This creates an interesting effect, making these mitts unique.

The sizes mentioned are when they are knit with an average sock-weight yarn. Using a DK yarn will create a larger mitt, but it will fit the same. The pattern works with anything from sock to DK weight yarn, so dig into your stash and use up that lovely soft yarn you’ve been saving for something special!
Eta: it’s not possible to add both options to the pattern info for both fingering and sport or dk yarns, sorry if this causes confusion.

One small typo has been found, where the ‘2e’ marker is mentioned it should say ‘2nd’. This is of course only for the English pattern readers!

I’ve been playing with the pattern, using a contrasting color for the cables and even using intarsia-in-the-round. This creates once again a very different mitt. This pattern is now published under the name For Lida fingerless mitts.

The pink&blue mitts on the pictures are knit up from one of my first handspun yarns. It was on the light side of fingering weight yarn, so I had to add extra rows to get the fit right.
