Burnside Sweatshirt
This is a relaxed fit summer top with a classic sweatshirt shape and an all-over knit-purl texture, named for the iconic Burnside Skate Park in Portland, Oregon. This piece is perfect for pairing with shorts for a casual look or layering over your favorite dress. The body is worked from the bottom up, starting in the round until separating for the arm holes. The front and back are worked flat with short row shaping and a three needle bind off to finish the shoulders. The collar is then knit by picking up stitches along the neckline. The sleeves are worked top-down, in the round, with picked-up stitches from the arm holes. The stockinette hem, collar, and cuffs are knit with a purl round halfway through for a tidy fold when doubled.
