I knit this adult-size hat using one of my all-time favorite cable stitches: the honeycomb stitch. I just love the stretchiness of it and it also creates the look of a complex pattern, even though only 2 cable stitches are used: LPC and RPC (written instructions for both stitches are included).

This pattern is written four different ways for four different weights of yarn (DK, worsted, bulky, and super bulky). All the hats have the same dimensions at the end, they will just require more repeats of the pattern and more cast on stitches the lighter the weight of yarn.

Gauge - DK(worsted, bulky, super bulky)
With US 4(5, 8, 11) needles:
30(27, 17, 9) stitches and 27(24, 19, 13) rows make a 4” square in 1x1 rib (brim pattern)

Skills to know

cast on

LPC and RPC cable stitches (again, instructions included)
