Amigurumi butterfly is very cuddly, and soft.
The pattern has very detailed written instructions as well and photos to illustrate each step.

The main color took about half a skein of Lavendar Blue Caron simple soft yarn, and the Accent color took a little over a skein of Times Square Caron simply soft stripes yarn.

You also need safety eyes, a yarn needle, scissors, a 4.25mm hook (I suggest ergonomic)
