This pattern creates a beautifully textured fabric and knits up quick once you have learned the dip stitch techniques. Included are links to a video tutorial and there is a pictorial tutorial in the pattern too for quick reference.

The cowl can be knitted in Worsted, Aran, Light Bulky or Chunk wool:

Worsted: Needles 4mm (US6) and 4.5mm (US7)
Wool needed: 270 - 290 Yards

Aran: Needles 5mm (US8) and 5.5mm (US9)
Wool needed: 200 - 230 Yards

Light Bulky: Needles 6mm (US10) and 6.5mm (US10.5)
Wool needed: 170 - 200 Yards

Chunky: Needles 8mm (US11)
Wool needed: 150 - 160 Yards

There is an option to use two colours for the cowl and yardage requirements will depend on how you use the two yarns you choose but it will be overall within the above guidelines.
