Cable Pop Sweater
After I finished this sweater, I slipped it on my daughter and thought to myself, “That is stinking adorable.”
“I don’t like it,” said my daughter.
“Why not?” I questioned.
“It’s red. Red is not my favorite color.” She replied.
“You cannot have an exclusively pink wardrobe.” I insisted.
Thus started about an hour of arguing over why one cannot own an entire wardrobe in strictly 1 color. I gave her every excuse in the book, but the truth was? I am out of pink yarn. Eventually, I just bribed her with candy. Hence, the smile.
The pattern is not as difficult as it might look. If you are comfortable with post stitches and popcorns, it will be a walk in the park. If you are not? I’ve got some video tutorials to send you. It is possible to get gauge with either worsted or dk weight yarn. So, options!
Happy ending to my story above. One day it snowed and got really cold and my daughter wanted to go sled riding. She was frantically searching through her drawers looking for….you guessed it….her red sweater. Why? Because, and I quote, “Mommy’s yarn sweaters are always the warmest and the coziest.”
Game. Set. Match.
