The pattern has not been test-knit, so please PM me with any notes about mistakes!

The little cable pattern reminded me of the steam rising off a cup of Caffè Mocha and of the little designs you sometimes see traced in the froth on top. Just as the beverage is comforting and warm, these socks should be comforting and warm on your feet! I see the rising swirls of the simple cable as an optimistic sign of healing and hope.

The cable pattern on this sock is very simple to work and would not be too “fussy” for a men’s sock. It requires cabling on only 4 of the 12 rows. The stitch count is adaptable to a range of foot sizes, as long as the initial number of stitches is a multiple of 4.

The green sock used Knitters Brewing Company Sockaholic and 2.25 mm needles, and the brown sock used Socks that Rock Lightweight and 2.5 mm needles.

I do not give specific directions for the heel. You may use the heel of your choice. I used the Fish Lips Kiss Heel, https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fish-lips-kiss-heel, which costs $1.00 and is well worth the price.

Thanks to messages from a very kind knitter, I’ve corrected line 8 in the written directions! The current version is v.3.
